England Mutilated By Germans Blitzkrieg

The word Blitzkrieg were made by the Germans, used by the Germans and those Germans are proud of it. They should be... because last night they just gave the English team a huge surprise on their counter attacks and thats how they won the Round of 16 clash with England.

England 1 Germany 4. You don't have to rub your eyes... it's true. England was mutilated by the Germans because they were beaten, outclassed and outplayed by a bunch of young boys. A crushing win for the Germans and plenty of lashes to come for the English as they headed home. The reaction from the English newspapers today:

The Sun - Message to England Players: You let your country down. HUMILIATED England were blasted last night after Germany sent them crashing out of the World Cup in our worst-ever finals defeat.

BBC News - Fans dismayed as England crash out of the World Cup. England are out of the World Cup after losing 4-1 to Germany in South Africa, leaving millions of fans disappointed. German Chancellor Angela Merkel apologised to UK Prime Minister David Cameron for the disallowed goal.

Telegraph - Frank Lampard's 'goal' reignites goal-line technology debate. The result was that a perfectly good goal was ruled out despite swift and unambiguous evidence of its legitimacy. No-one in the England camp, save perhaps for Fabio Capello, was claiming that the decision was the reason for defeat.

Mirror - Blunder ref under police guard as video replay calls grow. The shamed ref and his assistant were under police guard as they left the Free State Stadium, officials confirmed last night.

The Independent - Victims of a cruel injustice, but ultimately well beaten. The 4-1 defeat can be larded with sympathy, but in the end there was no avoiding the fact that English football has been cruelly exposed here these past few weeks.

Daily Star - WE WERE ROBBED! ENGLAND crashed out of the World Cup yesterday after being cheated by a linesman. The decision to disallow it was so shocking that when referee Jorge Larrionda, 42, was shown it at half-time, he reportedly gasped: “Oh my God!”

ESPN Soccernet - Capello bemoans disallowed goal. Fabio Capello said he did not understand why FIFA refuses to use video technology after Frank Lampard saw a clear goal not awarded during England's 4-1 defeat to Germany.

It's a score not easily swallowed down and be over with by the English and so does myself who watched the entire match where England played with little or no anxiety at all to win the match. The English defence looks like a pile of dust and easily brushed off by the younger and energetic Germans. The little spark that was spurned by Matthew Upson after 2 goals down was dramatic enough to cause the English to rise to the occasion, with a few minutes later Lampard's so-called-over-the-line-goal was disallowed. From that... it was enough to blow away what's left of the entire Englands team spirit.

My team lead says that the English defence looks like Tofu (bean curd). My front cube mate says that the Germans are just way better than the English. And as for the rest, I wasn't in the mood to be standing there to listen to how good the Germans were. What I needed to know has been displayed from the dismal display by the English and I don't need to be reminded out of it.

The disallowed goal, the disaster, the blunder, the horror, the upset, the bastards... that's how the English chanted to the referee and linesmen in the match.

This defeat is one of the worst that I've ever watched the English played and again I don't want it to be reminded how they have been robbed. If... and plenty of ifs to come that Lampard's goal were to be counted, what will have happened to the match? This is something for the English to ponder. For me, the World Cup season is nearly to an end as my second choice Spainish team is not really up for it either and might be looking to suffer the same fate as the English come Wednesday morning.

And the Japanese media made the refereeing disaster as a morning joke where they redraw the goal line as how the referee sees fit when the ball went into the goal instead.

Moan all we could, but pack your bags England. You are going home... trophiless once more.
