Passions Of Kerala

When dad comes home for the weekends, I'll always ask this question "What food will he be aftering today?" He has an appetite that... well... no one will quite understand. Today, he's aftering Indian food. Yep! When he wants it, he wants it to be good; not any crappy, tasteless Indian curry rice. That only reminds me of this place (now don't you go bollywood dancing with your minds)... there's a very good place for Indian food and it has been exceptionally good by far.

Passions of Kerala... New World Park branch.

So what do they serve there? Why of course the famous Banana Leaf Rice! If you have been googling, you will probably see there's a lot of positive reviews of this place. Apparently there's 3 branches opened, one located in Brown Garden, Gelugor; one in New World Park, Georgetown; and one in Service Road (located behind Gleneagles Medical Center), Georgetown.

As you sit down for its lunch or dinner, it comes with a rice set served with a mandatory 4 sides of the day (this will depends on what they are cooking and all these sides are vegetables) and a generous serving of Papadum. There's 2 types of rice served, white or tomato rice. The rest, you will need to order. They have chicken, beef, mutton, fish, squid, prawns, whether you want it to be served in curry or deep fried. They also have a variety vegetables to add, and of course plenty of drinks to choose from.

Darn! I forgot Lassi! Their famous Mango Lassi. I was thinking of Syrup with Lime all the while and totally forgotten about Lassi.

So the stuffs we ordered for the day were fried chicken, stir fried mix vegetables, 5 glasses of syrup, 3 sets of rice, and masala mutton. The damage for three... RM60. Cheap ain't it? I'm extremely proud being a Penangite, having places to eat that serves cheap and extremely delicious food, what else could I be asking for? Rating: 8 out of 10. I missed out the Lassi. The food is just marvellously spicy.
